School Community Partnership Projects

About the Projects

Aim and Objectives

The aim of School Community Partnerships is to encourage sustainable and effective partnerships between all members of the school community and local community which improve education and employment outcomes for young people. Effective partnerships are based on mutual trust and respect, and shared responsibility for the education of the children and young people at the school (ACSSO, 2008, p.1).

CTS engaged 5 specialist schools to participate in the School Community Partnership Pilot Projects between 2013 – 2016. The focus of the projects is to develop an Action Team of school and community members. The members work together to develop strategies that improve transitions for young people with disabilities and increase parental and family engagement in students learning.
