Year 10 student placement with Joshua Morris MP

The Powerful Placements Program is delivered in partnership by Powerful Placements (PP) and Community Transition Support (CTS), providing specialist school students with the opportunity to complete work experience with their local Member for Parliament.

Ayden McNair, a year 10 student at Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School completed a work experience placement with Joshua Morris’s Office, Member for Western Victoria Region, in term 4 of 2017.

An initial meeting was organised between Ayden and Joshua at the MP’s office in Ballarat on Thursday 26 October 2017, where it was agreed Ayden’s placement would occur every Wednesday for the following 5 weeks.

Ayden enjoyed the opportunity to experience an office environment and feels that his confidence and independence has grown as a result of the work placement.

Ayden is also a participant in the CTS Western Ticket to Work program, which supports specialist school students to gain a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship in their final years of schooling.
